BBC News article on Fighting Fantasy books.

I thought I'd post this for anyone who's a child of the 90s and hasn't come across Fighting Fantasy before.

Before we had computers that could do much more than display really blocky graphics and make beeping noises, the internet and, of course, Twine there was something called Fighting Fantasy.  These books were possibly the first interactive fiction, ignoring Dungeons & Dragons or RP games, and played with a piece of paper and a dice (yes - we had to keep track of our stats using the archaic method of pen and paper).  While by today's standards they're undoubtedly low-tech and most kids would probably wonder what the attraction was, it's worth a read if you want to know what is undoubtedly part of the heritage of the IF scene.

If you've never tried FF books before, they're well worth having a read.
