How to send the HTML to other people?

Hey! Sorry, I'm very new to Twine and I have only been using it for a couple of days. It's part of a university project, but part of it involves having to send the game to other people so they can test it, and I can only seem to send a direct link to the file in my Users folder, which is of course blocked for them.
How do I, like, export this game so that my friends can test it for me?
Sorry if this is something super basic, I'm not great at this stuff.

  • Since you posted this in the 1.x forum, I’m assuming you’re using the Desktop version of Twine 1.4…

From the Build menu, go to "Build Story…" This will output an HTML file. You can then upload that file to a web server in order to make it accessible to others. If you don’t have a web server, then you’ll have to attach that file to an email and then send it to others — they should be able to open the file in their web browser. (You may have to Zip the HTML file before sending, depending on what your email client and/or ISP does with HTML file attachments.)
