I've downloaded Twine from the main site and the version is 2.2.1. After I unzipped the zip file, I am unable to run Twine after I moved it to the Applications folder. The startup process gets stuck with the following message 'Verifying "Twine"'.

I've enabled the settings on my Mac to install apps from anywhere. Can anybody help?

Don't worry. I had the same issue, and it's very easy to bypass.

To start, open Terminal. Once it has opened, copy-paste this into Terminal:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine

After that, add a space, and drag Twine into Terminal. You should now see that the path to Twine was automatically added.

Press enter, and it should automatically open. If not, just open up Twine regularly, and it should open up.

Thanks very much for that answer. I am running OS 10.11 El Capitan had exactly the same problem as nikiilee described and was getting more than a little frustrated by it.

After applying that terminal command to Twine it started normally with the usual prompt to trust the app. Success!

Thanks for your help!
