Trouble with alt text in Sugarcane

Don't mind my basic self using Sugarcane still. ;D Been trying to mess around with alt text and I've run into three issues.

1) While I found a neat way to change the appearance of the alt text box and the font colour within, for some reason the text refuses to change to a different size than that of the main passage.

2) If the span for the alt text is in the middle of the page, it looks fine. However, if the span ends on the far right of the page, the alt text crams into a teeny tiny unsightly width, rather than appearing at, say, the front of the span. I think that may be unavoidable, but please prove me wrong?

2b) That crunched-up alt text then stretches the page far longer than its passage text, even when it's not "live", so to speak.

I"m attaching the Twine file with some dummy text. The first bolded span shows it working okay; the second shows how it does not.
