Completely Change the UI in SugarCube 2?

I very much like the functionality of SugarCube 2 as a story format, but the UI is intrusive to what I want to do with it. Is there any way for me to alter the source so the UI retains its elements but has a completely different layout?

    Depending on exactly how radically you want to change the current UI you can use:

    a. CSS to change the position / size / visibility / look of the existing HTML elements.

    b. Javascript to insert additional HTML elements into the current HTML structure.

    Without examples of the types of changes you want to make it is difficult to determine the amount of effort required or the techniques you may need to use.
    In an extreme case you may need to create your own local version of the SugarCube 2 story format and modify the structure of your local version's format.js file.
