Excuse the caps, my bad. I'm excited. Anyway, what exactly is Harlowe? Can one call it a "game engine" or is that too fancy over "markup language"? Either way, what's Harlowe's exact definition?
The Twine (1 or 2) application handles the editing of the Passage data and the combining of that Passage data with a Story Format to produce a Story HTML file.
Each Story Format is a self contained web-application that knows how to process the Passage data the Twine (1 or 2) application embeds within it.
It is the Story Format that defines the macro language syntax, the core list of available macros, the default HTML and CSS structures, and any other feature that it supports.
