Illume Proofing

Has anyone used the Illume proofing format this year? I'm having trouble importing it. The error I receive when I put up the format is

The story format at http://www.maximumverbosity.net/twine/Illume/format.js could not be added ().

Is this a new error for Harlowe 2.0.11 or i am doing something wrong? Thanks for your help.
Best,
FIF

  • Which version of the Twine 2 application are you using, and are you using the web-browser based release or the install-able release?

I was able to install the Illume proofing format via the link you supplied, and was able to use in on a new story project containing 10 passages. I tested it using the web-based release of Twine 2 using both Chrome and Firefox, but not in the install-able release as it is not installed on this machine.
  • I spoke to the creator via twitter and he let me know that the main issue was that if I am using https, it will not let me upload the story format (since it is http) I changed it to https://www.maximumverbosity.net/twine/Illume/format.js and we are good to go!

Thanks for the response greyelf and kudos to @gnustoboz as well!

Thanks for alerting me to the thread, FIF.

I've had several people report this with my story formats - as FIF said, the issue is that your browser (possibly depending on version/platform/etc.) will block the story format because it doesn't want to load a script insecurely while viewing a secure web site. My story formats work with http: or https: URLs, so just match what you're using (or just always use https: for the format URL) and it should work, but let me know if anybody sees otherwise. :)
  • Hi !

I used to use this wonderful format.
But it seems that it is not possible anymore with Twine 2.1.1

    Am I right?
    My best!

Currently Twine v2.1.0 and v2.1.1 both contain semi-related bugs which stop users from being able to add new Formats or update existing ones, once those bugs are fixed you should be able to add this Proofing Format again.
  • Thank you!
  • Just a little heads-up the proofing format is great. But i just copy paste it back manually to Twine after the changes avoid issues. If we can get a way to import automatically it would be great.

    Cheers,
