Sugarcube 2: How to put text into a box

I tried a few searches but couldn't find any code that would allow me to display story text in a box. I am very new to CSS so it is possible that I don't even know what I'm looking for. I searched text box, story box, text border.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about and how to do that?

Do you want a border around the entire main passage display area or some subset of text?

around the entire main passage so that I could have the text in a box on top of an image(background)

You likely want to put the border on the #story element. For example:

#story {
	border: 1px solid #444;
}
