Displaying text which has a _ in it

Question

How do I display text which has an underscore?  With the underscore present Twine tries to define a temp variable

 

I've tried various escape charactures with no luck.

Please use the Question Tags to state the name and full version number of the Story Format you are using, as answers can vary based on that information.

You can use HTML Escape Codes / HTML Entities like those found here as a substitute, in your particular case you want to use _

Some Passage content that includes an _underscore in it.

Besides what greyelf suggested, there are various ways to make the text appear normally in each story format.  See "Disabling Style Characters" at the Twine wiki for details on how to do that in your story format.
