Test play opens a text file?

Hey -- I've used twine before and just installed on a different computer, but now I've having trouble with "test play".  Whenever I try either option for testing something, my game doesn't open in a browser, but a text file opens in notepad with copyright info for sugarcane ?  What am I doing wrong?

  • What operating system? What browsers are installed? What browser do you want to use to open Twine files?

You might check your associations. Twine attempts to use your default browser, Internet Explorer if no other is installed.

To do so in Windows 7, click on Start then Control Panel. Then, check to make sure Control Panel displays by category in the drop-down menu up in the top right (might be set to small or large icons). Click on Programs, then Default Programs, then "Set your default programs." Select a browser on the left, then click on "Set this program as default." Then, OK.

After that, try again to test.

    Hope that helps! :)
  • Hey, thank you! Switching the html file association to Chrome was all I had to do -- not sure how it got unassociated in the first place, but I should have thought of that.

    Thanks again!  :)
