Using macros as choices?

You'll have to forgive me if this has been asked before, this is my first post on the twine forum and I'm really not sure how to phrase this question very succinctly at all.

Basically I want to use the <<replace>> macro--the one by leon arnott, i think?--except i want to use them as <<choice>> macros. what i mean is, i want to show two options that are both <<replace>> macros, but once you pick one option the other either disappears or get greys out.  i've tried to use an if statement to do this and it failed.  how would i pull this off?

thanks,
Taylor Anderson

  • I decided to do this kinda hackily, putting choices that redirected to the same passage and switched a variable, and then at the bottom of the passage displayed a different message depending on what the variable was set to.
