Hello,
I have some experience in coding but not enough to make this. At least in twine.
I want to make a visual countdown bar which will decade gradually and when the bar reaches zero, an automated action will accour as in jumping to a passage for eq or making a link unclickalbe. Simply I want to copy telltale games mechanic in to my browser based game. I don't want to give the user much time in critical conditions and by doing that increase the tension.
Actually it doesn't need to be a bar but it would look better than a numerical countdown. Although I don't know if it's possible in twine and also I don't know how to do it. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

1 - If you want to hide the countdown to your player, you can simply use the macro <<timedgoto>> (http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/5108)
2 - If you want to show the timer, use this timer (download link) http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/files/Timer%20Test.tws
You might have to change the script a bit if you're using Sugarcube. (a simple google search should do it, here is the first link I found : http://lectronice.com/posts/twine-using-ls-timedgoto-macro-in-sugarcube).
