Adding External Hyperlinks

I followed the Twine wiki instructions for adding an external link within the story, but it both left the link in the text and didn't link to the outside page. Has this guide been updated for Twine 2? What am I doing wrong?

    As far as I can tell the formatting for external links on the Twine Wiki (http://twinery.org/wiki/link?s[]=external#external_links) works in Twine 2.

    The following worked for me plugged into my start passage using Harlowe:
    Link: http://www.google.com

    [[DuckDuckGo|http://www.duckduckgo.com/]]

    <a href="http://www.google.com">link text</a>
    The last one is just an HTML link which should work without any <html> brackets.

    Currently the only two parts of the wiki related to Twine 2.x are the Twine 2.x.x release notes / bugs links at the top of the main page and the Twine 2 Resources section directly below that.

    The Getting Started with Twine 1.x, Twine Index, and Tips and Tricks sections are Twine 1.x only!
