Problems with Stylized Links (revised "Buttons")

I apologize for my previous question, I had created it without prior accessing twine for some time, as I was involved in conjunctive personal matters returning from work. Please feel free to close the previous question, as it was before I had realized what I was trying to say, and I had no means of editing the question's title.

After accessing various sites and previous questions and discussions on the matter, I managed to get a working iteration of what I was looking for.

Yet I feel as though this could be improved upon.. I have an idea of what I would want it to look like, but no real method of how to achieve it.

As of now, I have no idea where to start in order to enable 2 passages to be displayed next to each other simultaneously, in a fitted state.

I was also hoping that it would be possible if the size of the box would never change, despite the amount of written material within it (unless it was too much, in which case it could simply be cut off), the text would be displayed as;

There's nothing left for you here.
Listen to your head and turn around?

Instead of (for example);

There's nothing left for you here. Listen to your head and turn around?

And, if possible, these boxes would always remain fixed in place, no matter what, so that perhaps I could edit the background around them to accommodate them, so that even if a box would not be there, the Main body and paragraphs would still look cool, and engaging.

So far I have the sidebar (entire far left), a media bar (top 40%), a text area (bottom 40%) and hopefully soon an area(/link area) for links, with boxes such as these (bottom 20%). Could anyone please tell me how to implement a section such as this?

I would very much appreciate any response. Thank you.
