Minigame syntax

I am very new to Twine. As in, just picked it up today for use in a Global Game Jam hackathon.

So I am trying to write a minigame within my text adventure that involves clicking and time. However, either this hackathon has addled my brain or I'm not thinking this through clearly so I can't quite figure this out. I'm using Harlowe and rapidly losing my mind.

The idea is that you have a certain amount of time in which to click a link, and when you do it stops the clock, resets it, and puts up a different link. The page doesn't change. If you click before time runs out, the score advances. I'm struggling with the syntax. And I have until 4pm US Central Standard Time to figure this out.
