Printing Proofing Copy

Hello All,

I'm new to the Forum. Hi Everyone.

I've looked through Forum listings on how to print a proofing copy but have not found a solution that works yet.

Specs:

Twine 2.1, Sugarcube
Windows 10

Issue: Right clicking on opened Proofing Copy doesn't allow me to print or save the copy or even copy and paste. Would like to get the Passage headings and all text in the printed copy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sally

  • Generally when stating which story format you are using you also need to include the version number, because answers can be different for each one.

note: In this particular case the issue is related to the application itself so knowing the story format version is less important.

Based on the lack of a print option in the context menu I am going to assume you are using the install-able release of Twine 2.1.0, which unlike the web-browser based release does not have built-in support for any form of printing at all.

The following is one simple way to get around this limitation:

    1. Use the Publish to File option in your install-able release of the application to create a story HTML file.

    2. Run one of the web-browser based releases of Twine 2.1.0 (either the hosted release or the downloadable release) and use it's Import From File option to import the story HTML file.

    3. Open the imported story, select the View Proofing Copy option to create the output, then use the print menu item in the web-browser's version of the context menu to print that output.
