Question

Is there any way to make it possible to choose only one option from a list of checkboxes? How to select the gender of the character.

What you are looking for is the <<radiobutton>> macro.

This was more a matter of aesthetics, the checkbox looks better than the radiobutton, but if there is not a way to do this I will use that one.

You can use your CSS stylesheet to alter the aesthetics of any element you like. Look over at w3schools for examples of this.
