Here is a video of the problem. What am I doing wrong?

I have used this macro many times in the past.

I can just use the link macro instead but I'd like to know what I did wrong.

That's not what (click:) does. Click searches the page content for the supplied sub string or hook and attaches a link to it.

You seem be looking for the (link:) macro, or otherwise conflating the two.
