Can Twine access computer files?

I'm using Harlowe for Twine 2, and wanted to know if there's any way Twine can access a computer's files for use. I would like to do something similar to Doki Doki Literature Club, where it uses your user file name to call you by your real name. Is there any way this is possible in Twine?

The short answer is no. It might be possible if you use a shell like nw.js or electron, but I'm not certain, and that's kind of a lot of extra work.
